The Lawrence Teachers' Association ("Lawrence Teachers' Association", "we", "us") operates the LTA Member Portal web application and mobile app (the "Service"). This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Who can use this app
The LTA Member Portal is restricted to active members of the Lawrence Teachers' Association. Accounts are created by LTA administrators — individuals cannot self-register. If you are a current member and need access, contact your union representative.
Information we collect
Account information
When your account is created by an LTA administrator, we store your name and email address. This is used solely to authenticate you and display your profile within the app.
Push notification tokens
If you grant permission for push notifications, we store a device token (a randomly-generated identifier assigned by Apple or Google) to deliver notifications to your device. This token is not shared with third parties and is deleted when you disable notifications or delete your account.
Usage within the app
We do not collect analytics, tracking cookies, or behavioral data. We do not build profiles or sell any data.
How we use your information
To authenticate you and provide access to member content
To send you push notifications about union announcements (only if you opt in)
To display your name within the app to officers and administrators
We do not use your information for advertising or share it with third parties, except as required to operate the Service (see "Service providers" below).
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account data)
Vercel — web hosting
Firebase (Google) — push notification delivery (receives device tokens)
Resend — transactional email (used to send password reset links)
Each provider processes data only as needed to deliver their service. We do not authorize them to use your data for their own purposes.
Data security
All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS. Data at rest is stored in Supabase, which encrypts data at rest. Access to member data is controlled by row-level security rules that restrict each member to their own data.
Your rights
Access and correction: Contact us to request a copy of your data or to correct inaccurate information.
Delete your account: You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account within the app, or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your sign-in, your notification devices and notification history, and your membership details. Some records are kept after deletion: sign-in records, page-view and error records, administrator activity records, union emails sent to you, and concerns you submitted. Your name or email address may still appear in those records.
Push notifications: You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app.
Children
This app is intended for adult union members only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
